Singer songwriter Wesley Moore has turned personal hardship into a musical journey. At the urging of his late wife, Wes entered the studio to record his very personal solo album, “In the Wake” in 2014.
Coming off the heels of “In the Wake“, Wes had a newly kindled desire to take his music even further, this time in a full band format. By bringing a few great musician friends into the fold, Wes formed a band that was focused on powerful song writing and having a great time playing.
Although the members of the Red Clay Pigeons have been playing with Wes in some fashion for over a decade, the band’s sound can sometimes be difficult to put your finger on due to the vast depth of musical influences amongst members. Bryce Robertson (lead guitar/lap steel), Ian Taylor (keyboards/vocals) and Allen Tucker (drums/vocals) have successfully taken Wes’ folk singer/songwriter style and melded it with wide ranging musical influences like Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Half Moon Run, The Grateful Dead, Charlie Hunter, Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Nirvana and The Band. This has caused the group to sound truly unique when stacked among others in the folk-rock/Americana genre.
By aligning their unwavering dedication to the do-it-yourself work ethic with a signature sound, Wesley Moore and the Red Clay Pigeons have helped define the landscape of today’s Indiana music scene.
